The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) organised a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony to commemorate the 17th National Youth Day celebration at the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in RPN Kampong Mentiri last night.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad was the guest of honour.
The ceremony began with a mass Maghrib prayer followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, Tahlil and mass Isyak prayer.
The recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil was dedicated to Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.
The ceremony proceeded with Doa Kesyukuran, Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam, and Doa against COVID-19, and mass Isyak prayer.
Permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries and executive committee members of the national celebration also attended, along with mosque committee members, youth associations, mosque youths, higher education institution students and alumni, and Youth Development Centre (PPB) trainees.
