Management Services Department at PMO receives ISO 9001:2015 accreditation

A CEREMONY was held yesterday for the presentation of the ISO 9001:2015 Accreditation Certificate to the Management Services Department (MSD) at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Permanent Secretary (Corporate Affairs and Public Administration) at the PMO Haji Roslan bin Haji Taja’ah was the guest of honour.

In his speech, Haji Roslan commended the MSD for its vision and mission as the management consultant for public services since 2012.

“To obtain the ISO accreditation is a proactive effort which supports the achievement of one of the 13 integrated strategies under the National Vision of 2035 – institutional development, which aims to improve quality management, administration and governance in the public sector; public services which are of high quality; and efficient government procedures,” he said.

The presentation of the ISO 9001:2015 certificate from the guest of honour to MSD Director Aminuddin bin Haji Buntar followed.

Later, a sharing session was conducted by Ram M Desai, the Certification Manager of Bureau Veritas, Brunei Darussalam.

MSD was twice awarded the PBD ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System – in 2012 and 2015 – and this year, it has migrated to ISO 9001:2015.

A special committee, known as the ‘ISO Migration Team’ was established in November 2017, to assist the department in making evaluations, analyses and preparation of the required documents in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

The MSD received internal training on the Awareness Programme for ISO 9001:2015 on January 29-30, 2018, and Internal Quality Auditor training on January 31 to February 1, 2018. The Auditor General, the Secretary of Public Services and the Director of the Civil Service Institute were also present at yesterday’s presentation ceremony.
