ANN/INQUIRER – Police arrested a 36-year-old man who yielded illegal drugs and a gun in a buy-bust operation in Naga City in Camarines Sur province, the Philippines yesterday morning.
Police Senior Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, said Melvin Jimenez sold a sachet of syabu (crystal meth) worth PHP2,500 to an undercover agent in Barangay (village) Santa Cruz at around 11.20am.
Bongon said confiscated from Jimenez was a red sling bag containing a calibre .38 gun with four bullets and two more sachets of syabu.
Authorities recovered a total of two grammes of syabu worth PHP13,600 from the suspect. Jimenez is now in the custody of the police for proper disposition.
He will be facing charges for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
