A PERMANENT resident recently stormed into an acquaintance’s house, robbing him off his household appliances after failing to get money from the victim, the Magistrate’s Court was told yesterday.
DPP Hajah Siti Mu’izzah binti Haji Sabli’s charge alleges the defendant, Md Shaheb Ali, 29, of committing theft of two gas cylinders, a stove, a fan and rice cooker, after a confrontation instilled fear in the victim at 2.30pm on February 15, 2019 at Kampong Tanjong Maya in Tutong.
The charge carries a penalty of up to 30 years’ jail and at least 12 whippings.
Senior Magistrate Azrimah binti Haji Abdul Rahman adjourned the case to February 21 and ordered the defendant remanded while the police continue a manhunt on other suspects linked to the case.
