PROSECUTORS have brought another charge against a local man who allegedly threatened four police constables with a machete.

Roslan bin Yussof, 42, was originally charged with assault by pointing and swinging a machete towards the four policemen to deter them from discharging their public duties, at 3.35am on January 23 at the car park in Jalan Lorong Bebatik in the capital.

He now faces an extra charge of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid remitted the case to the Intermediate Court, since Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Eleana binti Dato Paduka Haji Hairol Arni’s charge against the defendant for possessing an offensive weapon is within the jurisdiction of the higher court.
