Man driving in wrong direction found

Police yesterday said they have tracked down the man believed to be in a video that went viral, showing him driving in the wrong direction along the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Highway.

The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) released a statement, verifying the incident that occurred around 12.20pm yesterday near a flyover leading to the capital, which prompted the authorities to open an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.

The man was exiting the road in his silver SUV towards Jalan Gadong on the wrong side of the highway, causing motorists to stop or slow down at the incoming vehicle.

According to the RBPF, the man faces two counts of violations – Section 28 for reckless or dangerous driving and Section 39(1) for failing to conform to the indication given or necessarily implied by any such sign – under Chapter 68 of the Road Traffic Act.
