Malaysian singer Shila Amzah sheds 14kg in preparation for new concert tour

ANN/THE STAR – Malaysian singer Shila Amzah recently held a press conference at the Ruma Hotel recently to promote her new concert tour, Journey To The Future.

During the event, the 32-year-old artists revealed that she underwent physical training as preparation for her upcoming concert.

“To improve my stamina and cardio, I took up sports like badminton and Muay Thai. I go for walks, visit the gym more and eat a balanced diet to keep in shape too.

“With my (low) stamina, doing one show can be very tiring if I don’t take care of myself.

Now that I’ll be doing multiple shows, it’s (the tour) more like a marathon than a sprint, so I have to be physically prepared,” she explained.

Apart from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, her upcoming tour will take her to Penang, Sabah as well as Singapore and Indonesia.

Aside from an improved stamina, Shila shared that her routine has successfully helped her shed 14kg.

“It’s such a great way to leave 2022 and start 2023 because I promised to take better care of myself last year. I feel so much healthier and confident now,” she said with a smile.

Being a single parent, the Jauh Hati hitmaker agreed that balancing between work and motherhood isn’t easy. Last February, Shila confirmed her divorce from her husband of four years, Haris Idraki Elias, on Instagram.

In her post, she wrote: “Alhamdulillah, my case with my ex-husband has just been solved. We will work hard to love and care for Seth forever. Thank you to all of those who prayed for me.”

To make the most of her time with her three-year-old son, Shila revealed that she will be bringing him along for her tour.

“I’ll be bringing my son to the cities I’m touring but not to the stage or concert since he’s still very young. At the moment, I have a helper who looks after my son, so that really does help take some weight off my back,” she elaborated.

Journey To The Future will kick off at 8pm on March 4 at the Plenary Hall in the KL Convention Centre. Tickets are priced from MYR238 to MYR638 and available from https://allaccess-asia.com/.

Tour dates and venues for shows in Penang, Sabah, Singapore and Indonesia are yet to be disclosed.
