Making tasty treats

A four-day culinary class for youth, organised by the Belait District Youth and Sports Department in collaboration with the Pertiwi Association, concluded with a closing ceremony yesterday.

During the programme, 20 youth learnt cooking techniques and a number of popular recipes from experienced cooks from the Pertiwi Association.

A participant, Nurul Athirah binti Abdul Latif, said of her favourite recipes during the programme were cupcakes and muffins. “They are very easy to make at home at a leisurely pace,” she added.

Muhammad Wa’ie Haziq bin Zulkarnain, on the other hand, said his favourite recipe was the beef burger.

“We were able to learn from scratch how to make the bun of the burger, to properly season and cook the patty, and to assemble the burger into a dish that is not only presentable but also delicious.”
