Ghanim International Corporation Sdn Bhd launched bruneihalalfoods products in Bangladesh during a launch at Unimart Entrance Lobby, Gulshan on Sunday.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah officiated the launch.
Also on Sunday, an MoU was signed between Ghanim International Corporation (Brunei) and Zes Trading (Bangladesh) to strengthen the collaboration between the two companies and explore various business opportunities including importing raw materials from Bangladesh for further processing among others.
Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Permanent Secretary (Economy, Trade and Industry) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy Dr Hajah May Fa`ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin; Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pengiran Norhashimah binti Pengiran Mohd Hassan, Ghanim International Corporation Chief Executive Officer Dr Nur Rahman, Chairperson Vorer Pata Group of Industries chairperson Dr Kazi Ertaza Hassan, CIP, and President of the Federation of Bangladesh, Chambers of Commerce and Industry Md Jashim Uddin were also present.
Dr Nur Rahman said, “During the state visit of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Brunei in April 2019, we saw an opportunity to support the realisation of the bilateral relations between Brunei and Bangladesh and developed an intention to bring Bruneian products to Bangladesh. Today, as His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s visit to Bangladesh, we are pleased to materialise the aspiration commenced three years ago. We are cementing this venture with Vorer Pata Group of Industries, led by Dr Kazi Ertaza Hassan, CPI a director of FBCCI, a renowned and respected industry leader in Bangladesh who has taken interest and the initiative to work with us to distribute bruneihalalfoods products under the Zes Trading company.
“Vorer Pata has also taken the initiative to set up a bruneihalalfoods flagship store in Bangladesh at Gulshan Avenue, a strategic location at the heart of Dhaka to ensure Bruneian products are accessible to consumers.
“With the signing of the MoU, we hope to contribute to deepening the relationship between Brunei and Bangladesh and serve as a good foundation for greater development between our countries in achieving each other’s national aspiration.”
Meanwhile, Dr Kazi Ertaza Hassan said, “We are excited to work with Ghanim International Corporation for the distribution of Bruneian food products in Bangladesh as we believe that the demand for high quality wholesome halal food products is growing in line with the growth of the economy. Today, we are launching six products into over 35 Unimart, Shwapno and Agora outlets across Bangladesh.”
