Making effort strengthens faith

Azlan Othman

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman said putting in the effort coupled with adherence to Allah the Almighty is not only a noble act that bears greater benefits in worldly affairs but also in the days of hereafter.

“It brings greater benefits not only to the individual but also to the family, society and the nation. It is also a pathway to strengthening our faith. Amidst the current pandemic, we must have determination in our hearts to be earnest in our jobs and never give up or lose hope.

“We must supplicate more, persevere, be grateful and be satisfied with the provisions of Allah the Almighty and nourish the heart with good intentions. We must also be loyal and assist leaders by adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOP).

“It is worth putting in the effort rather than not doing it, as it is full of wisdom. Only when we try do grievances, depression, laziness dissappear. Making an attempt will bolster our hopes and motivate us to strive for more. This is a sure sign of the faithful.

The minister added, “By making an effort, we are expressing hope to Allah the Almighty with our actions and reducing our dependence on others.

“We must never forget to supplicate when trying to facilitate our daily routine and filling the day with goodness and blessings.

“In jointly curbing the spread of COVID-19, Muslims are called on to abide by the SOP and protocols, and refrain from neglecting or being complacent with the directives set by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

“These include wearing face masks, sanitise our hands, practise social distancing, get sufficient rest, consume Halal food, supplicate and have trust in Allah the Almighty,”, the minister added.
