I am an avid jogger who enjoys a good workout at public parks.
However, most of these parks have fallen into disrepair, and yet it appears to be no plans of filling the potholes or retiling the walkways anytime soon.
The fact that public parks are popular with people with small children worries me even more.
Every time I see children at the playground, I wonder if the equipment would collapse one day, resulting in countless injuries. I recently watch a fellow jogger fall as a result of stepping on broken tiles. Thankfully, she escaped unscathed. But it ought not to be this way, for park-goers to constantly have to mind the shards while working out.
I hope the authorities would consider repairing and maintaining these popular recreational spots.
