His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam presented a Letter of Credence to Brunei Darussalam’s newly appointed Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China and received Letters of Credence from newly appointed foreign envoys to Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon.
His Majesty first presented a Letter of Credence to Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the People’s Republic of China Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Pahlawan Colonel (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Abdu’r Rahmani bin Dato Paduka Haji Basir.
His Majesty then received Letters of Credence from Ambassador of the Republic of Philippines to Brunei Darussalam Christopher B Montero, High Commissioner of Canada to Brunei Darussalam Jeanette Stovel, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Brunei Darussalam Vladimir Borisovich Goncharenko, Ambassador of Japan to Brunei Darussalam Eiji Yamamoto, and High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam Major General (Rtd) Abdul Aziz Tariq.
Following the ceremony, His Majesty received in audience the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the People’s Republic of China and the newly appointed foreign envoys.
Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Private and Confidential Secretary to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Mohd Nawawi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Haji Awang Mohd Taha, Grand Chamberlain Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar and Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Nor bin Haji Jeludin were also present.
The ceremonies took place at the Istana Nurul Iman.
