“We are very proud of every student and all they have achieved,” said Sandow. “This celebration shows how they are able to speak for themselves, find what to say independently and have the skills they will need to flourish in the senior school and beyond.”

A total of 84 Year 6 students passed out at yesterday’s graduation ceremony.

The event featured poem recitals by Bethan Payne, Isla Hallam, Aiman Zaxquarim and Aliya Ahmad Omar, and piano performances called Por Una Cabeza and Holiday in Paris by Zahrah Furlonge and Cameron Ang. A performance called Fly by the Year 6 graduating students brought the event to a close.

Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah will be entering Year 7 of the JIS Middle Years together with more than 130 other students next month.

“The annual Year 6 graduation ceremony is an opportunity for us to celebrate the children’s time in Junior School and recognise that they are moving onto the next stage of their educational career,” said Paul Bannister.

“The ceremony is an important milestone for the Junior School children and something they look forward to – a chance to reflect on everything they have achieved and for the children to realise they have all the skills they need to be successful as they move up through JIS.”
