Business associations are important to the the country’s socio-economic development, said Attorney General at the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) Haji Ahmad bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Laila Setia Bakti Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa.
“Through interaction and knowledge sharing of individuals from different cultures and backgrounds, we gain a greater understanding of the business world within and beyond our borders,” he said as the guest of honour at the French Bruneian Business Association’s (FBBA) Annual Get-Together 2020-2021 at the Serambi Suluh Hall, Tarindak D’Seni in the capital on Saturday.
At the event themed ‘Magical France’, the attorney general recalled the AGC’s participation in a forum on intellectual property (IP) rights.
“Forums like this enable the private sector to better understand the legal framework they are required to operate in,” he said.
He expressed hope that the association will continue organising such an event.
Ambassador of the Republic of France to Brunei Darussalam Christian Ramage presented a memento to the guest of honour while FBBA Secretary-General Tan Cheng Voon presented a bouquet to the attorney general’s spouse Faridah.
FBBA Honorary President Haji Musa bin Haji Adinin, executive members of the association and guests were present.
