THE positive feedback shared by the full-house audience of 150 people marked the success of Sutera Memento in performing a successful and amazing theatrical production called Takdir held at Silaturrahim Hall, First Floor, Youth Centre Bandar Seri Begawan on January 5.
It was held in conjunction with Malam Minggu Pusat Belia supported by Department of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The synopsis of Takdir entails a story of a young lady Nishya who is successful in career yet depressed with loneliness after the death of her mother. Situation worsened when she struggled with forbidden love due to the family’s past. What exactly happened that the family has been keeping for so long?
The boldness of the story encompasses familial issues which are often kept under rug within the society. Through the story told by Takdir, it is hoped to create and spread the awareness on broken familial institution and how the impacts can drive one into depression or even suicidal.
“We hope that Takdir can be a kickstart in Sutera Memento’s visualisation to spread awareness on social and familial issues, often unspoken in public,” said CEO of Sutera Memento Dewi HK.
“It has been an overwhelming experience for us to be part of Malam Minggu Pusat Belia (MMPB), at the same time a jolly good one. Being a platform to highlight youth involvement and talents, this project is in line with the vision and mission of Sutera Memento, which is to open up opportunities for youth and theatre enthusiasts to further expand their skills and expertise,” added Dewi HK.
