    Local students Jakarta-bound for youth conference

    Three students and a supervising teacher from Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College (MSPSBS) left the country yesterday to participate in the 2nd ASEAN-Italy Youth Conference (AIYC) in Jakarta, Indonesia which ends on Wednesday.

    The students Awangku Izat Ryan bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad Sufri, Amirul Mohammad Daniel bin Mohammad Kha’irul Yashdeey and On Jia Xian are supervised by Ani Suryani binti Haji Bahe.

    Amirul Mohammad Daniel told the Bulletin, “I am honoured to represent Brunei Darussalam and my college at the conference.”

    The AIYC aims to address issues concerning the youth of ASEAN member countries and Italy, and recent development priorities. Two main themes will be discussed in this year’s conference: ‘Youth Empowerment and Digitalisation’ and ‘Climate Change and Food Security’.

    The delegates will work together to draft solutions and youth-oriented recommendations during the final communique that will be presented to ASEAN and Italian dignitaries and officials as well as Global Action representatives.

    Acting Assistant Director of the Department of Schools Pengiran Ali Shafie bin Pengiran Haji Abas and Head of Cluster 3 at the Department of Schools Hajah Amal Nuriyah binti Haji Ahmad Kumpoh along with MSPSBS principal Dayangku Hajah Norhasima binti Pengiran Haji Hassan were at the Brunei International Airport to bid farewell to the delegation.
