A total of 44 local scouts took part in a workshop on ‘Diversity and Inclusion‘ recently at the Ashraqal Hall, Sungai Tali Primary School, Lumut II.

The workshop, organised by the Belait District Scouts Association (PPDB), was conducted to help the scouts recognise diversity among scouts, promote respect for people who are different while using those differences to create cohesive and diverse local, national and global communities.

It also aimed to provide equal opportunities to those interested in scouting activities. “As a movement, we aspire that our membership reflects the diversity of young people and adults in countries and local communities where scout groups exist,” said PPDB Assistant District Commissioner of Communication Section Norfaezah binti Haji Masri, who was the main presenter for the workshop.

Fourteen other co-facilitators from St James’ School, St Margaret’s School, Perdana Wazir Secondary School, Anthony Abell College, Belait Arabic School troop leaders and the Adults in Scouting also joined the workshop.
