Four local players representing the Brunei Darussalam Petanque Federation (BDPF) left for Bangkok, Thailand yesterday to take part in the Thailand Open Master Games being held from February 4 to 12 at the Chonburi Province.
Hamidun bin Haji Abdul Hamid and Masli bin Haji Mohd Said will compete in the men’s double event while Hajah Norhaini binti Haji Dollah and Norman binti Haji Juna will participate in the women’s doubles.
Team Manager Siti Nurhafilah binti Haji Arun said the athletes have been training since the announcement of the tournament.
Besides petanque, other sports will also be contested including athletics, badminton, basketball, bodybuilding, dance sports, football, gateball, golf, sepak takraw, swimming, table tennis, tennis, woodball, stand up paddle board, bridge and karate.
