Local, overseas Yo-yo players display skills at competition

SKILLFUL display of talents were shown as Yo-yo players from across the country and beyond gathered at the Atrium of the KB Sentral Shopping Centre to compete in the Belait District Yo-yo Competition from April 6-7.

Co-organised by KB Sentral Event Management and Yo-Splinter Club, and sponsored by Yo-Splinter, the competition gathered Yo-yo players or spinners from not only across the country but also those from overseas to put their skills and talents on the line in a series of friendly showcase of Yo-yo.

The competition started with the X-Open Preliminary for local and oversee spinners as well as the 1A Preliminary.

Other categories included Most Eli-Hop Mini Contest, Long Sleeper Mini Contest and more.

The first place winner for the X-Open Preliminary went to Awangku Md Aiman from the Brunei-Muara District, followed by second place winner Wafiq Missli from the Tutong District and third place winner Stuart Yong from the Belait District.

In the 1A Preliminary, first place went to Wafiq Missli while Amereen from the Brunei-Muara District placed second and Fathan Jais from the Belait District finished in third place.

Stuart Yong won the Long Sleeper category with his record time of seven minutes and eight seconds while Awangku Md Aiman won the Most Eli-Hop category.
