A 29-YEAR-OLD local unemployed man with previous trespassing convictions was sentenced to two months’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court after he pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal intimidation yesterday.
DPP Sabrina binti Haji Mahmud revealed that Mohammad Sherizal Amar Hafizsudin bin Sulaiman committed the offence on March 1. It was at 6.20am when a woman, who was alone at her house in Jalan Singa Menteri, Kampong Mumong, Kuala Belait heard a sound of metal falling to the ground.
When she checked through her window, she found two rusty metal rods laid out on the ground in her compound beside her house and called the police which led to the defendant’s arrest.
Police investigations found that the defendant was on his way towards a waste disposal site in the area, but saw the two metal rods on a bridge beside the house, took it and threw them into the victim’s house compound which intimidated and threatened the victim.
Magistrate Kamaliah Fadhilah binti Haji Ibrahim presided over the case.
