Three Bruneians were involved in a head-on crash yesterday on Jalan Tedungan, Limbang, which killed one person and left the other two seriously injured.

Sarawak State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Chief Superintendent Alexson Naga Chabu said that Pengiran Abdul Azim bin Pengiran Ismail, 34, from Kampong Mulaut, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His car was torn in half by the impact of the collision.

The couple in the other vehicle, Abdul Ishak @ Ismail bin Ubam, 74, and Aminah binti Abdullah, 72, were immediately taken to Limbang Hospital.

Alexson said, “Pengiran Abdul Azim was travelling to Limbang from Tedungan, while the couple’s car was coming from the opposite direction.

“Upon reaching KM35 of Jalan Tedungan, Limbang, Pengiran Abdul Azim was believed to have lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a sharp bend, causing him to veer into the opposing lane, crashing into the couple’s car.”

The Sarawak police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Malaysian Road Transport Act 1987.
