Fifteen participants attended the referee refresher seminar 2021 organised by the Tutong District Amateur Football Association (TDAFA) with the cooperation of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) and the Belait District Football Association (PBDB) at the TDAFA Office in Tutong yesterday.
Tutong District Amateur Football Association General Secretary Matusin bin Sumpong said in his opening remarks, “The seminar allows participants to understand the existing and amended rules which have been amended by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).”
He added, “The seminar also intends to create coordination among all referees in Brunei Darussalam so that there is no inconsistency in terms of understanding and to assist referees to make accurate decisions as well as to improve the quality of refereeing in the country.”
The general secretary hoped that the participants could give their full attention on what was conveyed by the instructors to add and expand their knowledge.
To complete the seminar, participants will also attend a fitness test exam on January 15 at the Tutong Sports Complex at 6.30am. The seminar was facilitated by instructors Degat Chandau, Haji Rozyman Aidit bin Haji Ibrahim and Hadimin Shahbuddin.
The theory session covered changes of the regulations in matches in accordance to the Laws of the Game 2020/2021 with a practical session also held at the Tutong Sports Complex.
Among the topics discussed was the rule on substitutions where each team will be permitted to use a maximum of five substitutes.
NFABD Executive Committee members Pengiran Haji Aliudin bin Pengiran Haji Tajuddin, Morni bin Zakaria, Bujang bin Haji Japar and Abdul Adib bin Haji Abdul Khani, NFABD’s Referee Director Razak Anuar; Brunei Darussalam Football Referee Association (PPNBD) President Haji Hamidon bin Md Zain and TDAFA President Haji Takong bin Ahmad were present.
