The Enforcement Division of the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board fined two individuals BND200 each for littering on February 6.
Mohammad Naim bin Abdullah and Muhammad Yusuf bin Abdul Talib were caught disposing cigarette butts in a public area.
The men were issued the fine under the Miscellaneous Offences Act 2021 and were given seven days to settle the penalty. The failure to settle the fine will result in the case being brought to court.
If found guilty, an individual will be fined at least BND1,000 and no more than BND3,000 for the first offence and at least BND3,000 and no more than BND9,000, imprisonment of no more than six months or both for subsequent offences.
