The Belait Lions Club and Lambir (Miri) Lions Club held a joint installation, induction and fourth twinning anniversary night at the Imperial Palace Hotel in Miri recently.
The event served to officially induct new members into both clubs and celebrate the numerous achievements of the members in their continued service to help those in need.
The day saw new member Alvin Cheong inducted by Vice District Governor I Ronny Hiew and the installation of the new Belait Lions Club Board of Directors (2022-2023) with Keith Wong as president, Phyllis Jong as vice president I, Irene Thow as vice president II, Joseph Teo as secretary and Jason Chong as treasurer.
Lions Clubs International Milestone Chevron awards were handed out to five Belait Lions Club’s past presidents Raymond Lee and Hoon Fong Ma for their 45 years of service, past presidents Linda Chia and John Chin (25 years of service) and Terry Thoo (20 years of service).
Members later gathered round for a cake-cutting to celebrate the twinning anniversary.
