Library association marks 37 years with seminar

The Brunei Darussalam Library Association (BLA) organised a library seminar, themed ‘Are Data Analysts Changing the Future of our Libraries?,’ in conjunction with its 37th anniversary at the Language and Literature Bureau Library in Lambak Kanan recently.

The seminar was opened by BLA President PN Nellie Sunny.

Speakers DY Emi Suryaney Hipni from DBP; Pengiran Haji Mohd Shahminan bin Pengiran Haji Sulaiman from BLA; DY Norhasinah binti Haji Moksin and DY Amal Syukriyyah binti Haji Abdul Kahar from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA); and AW Mohd Hafizuddin bin Abu Hasrah from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) shared their insights on topics including the “new librarian”; re-imagining libraries of the future; “Do We Retain Libraries or Data Analysts?”; digital repository; big data, artificial intelligence and libraries; data analysts challenges and opportunities.
