I OBSERVED during last year’s year-end rainy season that storm drains in Tutong District were parallel to the roads.
However, they were not very effective as they were clogged with grass and weeds.
Because of this, some roads were badly flooded, affecting the livelihood of the village residents.
I hope the village heads can organise groups of volunteers to clear these storm drains before this year’s rainy season.
A simple act like this should be initiated at the village level rather than waiting for government action.
We should be proactive than be reactive.
