Let technology drive your business

EMPOWERING your business performance is about using technology to do business more effectively.

This was highlighted by Dynamik Technologies Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Haslina binti Haji Mohd Taib during an interview on the sidelines of the ‘Power Your Business Performance’ workshop yesterday.

Sharing her thoughts on empowering business, from a technological standpoint, she said, “I have seen in the last decade, technologies are being used to operate and automate businesses. That’s across the public and private sectors.”

“We have talked about embarking on a journey into innovation and using it to be more effective, using technology to help with our decision-making.”

“There’s a lot of catch-up to be done,” she said, adding that part of this is perhaps the lack of confidence in changing the way of doing business.

The CEO noted that people are happy to use technology and stop using what used to be manual. As an example, she said that when people want to send money to each other, they will do so through bank transfer using technology or even by transferring between mobile devices.

“Enterprises and businesses still need to adopt that and make that leap,” she said.

“Look at it from a perspective of ‘we have all this information, let technology manage our day-to-day operations’. Have that leap of faith and use technology to bring about data, for example, that you can actually visualise, that you can actually use to forecast what behaviour and what outcomes you want.

“So you should empower yourself with technology,” she said. “Empowering from a technical sense is about taking that leap forward and going on a cloud, going on an open database and sharing information. Look at the products of technology and use that to do your business.”

“I find that we haven’t trusted the systems in our day-to-day lives. At work, we still want to process things when a system could look after it,” she said, adding that she is looking forward to a lot more automation, machine-to-machine integration and artificial intelligence.”
