TWENTY-six participants of Belia Cinta Tanah Air Programme (PBCTA) 2019 visited the Brunei History Centre in the capital as part of the activities under the programme yesterday.
Led by Assistant Secretary of PBCTA Abdul Azeez bin Haji Ahmad, the visit aimed to know further of the history of Brunei Darussalam.
The participants were briefed by Senior History Officer at the Brunei History Centre Pengiran Hajah Mahani binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad. They also visited a mini exhibition on Salasilah Brunei and learnt how to preserve old books.
This year saw 52 youth comprising 22 males and 30 females throughput the country participating in PBCTA 2019.
Among the objectives of the programme are to increase the spirit of patriotism among the youth and getting them to be active in leadership, volunteering and youth development activities.
PBCTA is a nationalism programme organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Religious Affairs conducted annually in conjunction with the National Day.
