Izah Azahari

The Bangar Fire Station recently received a study visit from 57 students and teachers of Pengiran Muda Mohamed Bolkiah Religious School in the Temburong District.

The visitors were given a briefing on the tasks and roles of firefighters, and were given the opportunity to take a closer look at equipment and firetrucks.

Meanwhile, 10 staff members of Aegis Secure Solutions Sdn Bhd took part in a three-day fire marshal course from November 28 to 30 at the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) Headquarters, Berakas organised by the FRD Public Relations Division Operation ‘F’ Branch.

The participants learnt the importance of fire prevention and safety both in theory and in practical lessons.

The course touched on the causes of fire, understanding the appropriate course of action during a fire and systematic evacuation.

They also learnt the use of fire extinguishers and fire blankets as well as tools used in fire and rescue operations.
