Some 89 students from Belait Arabic School attended an ASEAN roadshow held by the Information Department’s International Affairs Unit, Prime Minister’s Office at the school’s surau yesterday.
The roadshow introduced the students to ASEAN to inculcate patriotism and an appreciation for ASEAN by learning the functions and roles of ASEAN.
The Information Department also conducts outreach programmes to forge ties with the, community, focussing on students.
The briefing delivered by Assistant Information Officer Pengiran Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin hoped to raise awareness among the students in the inclusivity of Brunei in ASEAN in line with the ASEAN motto ‘One Vision, One Identity, One Community’.
‘We ASEAN’, a downloadable application was also promoted during the event.
The application contains an ASEAN calendar and information, quizzes, videos and photos on all things ASEAN. The application is the brainchild of the Information Department’s International Affairs Unit as SCI of ASEAN-COCI which is downloadable from Google Play for Android users and App Store for iOS.
