Officials from mosques, suraus and prayer halls in Zone I of the Brunei-Muara District attended a Maulidur Rasul Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wassalam lecture at the Pehin Dato Imam Haji Mokti Mosque in Kampong Burong Pingai Ayer yesterday.
The lecture was held to further enliven Maulidur Rasul celebration and to remember Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) nobility and struggles in spreading Islam.
Datin Hajah Nahriah binti Haji Asbi, the spouse of the Minister of Religious Affairs, was the guest of honour.
Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Core Knowledge Centre Senior Assistant Professor Dr Haji Harapandi bin Dahri delivered the talk titled ‘The Prophet’s behaviour towards his wives.’
It highlighted the harmonious manner in which Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) interacted with his spouses, including holding regular discussions with them, praising them and aiding in homely chores, among others.
The lecture heeds His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s call to establish the Sultanate as a Zikir Nation, while at the same time providing an understanding on the ways of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
