Learning about Halal food control

Forty-five participants joined the Basic Islamic Finance and Entrepreneurship programme 2020 yesterday, organised by the Halal Food Control Division of the Syariah Affairs Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), through its Halal Awareness Enhancement Programme received taking part in.

The participants comprise of alumni from Al-Azhar University, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), led by Co-Chairperson of Executive Committee of Basic Islamic Finance and Entrepreneurship for UNISSA, KUPU SB and Rabitah International Al-Azhar University Alumni (WAAG) Dr Haji Noralizam bin Aliakbar.

The participants learnt about Halalan Thayyiban principle in the aspect of law, in addition to cleanliness, food safety and products. The Halal certification process, offences relating to Halal Food and developments of Halal Food Control Division were also highlighted.

The visit was aimed at spreading Halal awareness to the community, and to support one of the core strategies to strengthen Maqasid Syariah in administration in the country.

The participants were welcomed by the Acting Director of Syariah Affairs Haji Abdul Rahman bin Matzin and Acting Assistant Director of Syariah Affairs Haji Ahmad Haziq bin Haji Abdul Hamid.
