Shell LiveWIRE Brunei’s first leadership camp this year was held at Freme Rainforest Lodge in Temburong from December 15 to 17.
Twenty-six participants comprising 2020 Shell LiveWIRE Business Awards winners, Business Network members, AgroBIZ students, staff of Progresif and Youth Development Centre graduated with an overwhelming synergy signifying another successful programme despite the gloom of the COVID-19 pandemic for most part of the year.
The 55-hour away from home programme aimed to inculcate leadership values within individuals and delved into participants’ personal traits through self-assessment. They were exposed to natural elements that explored their characteristics. Theoretical sessions were led by Shell LiveWIRE Brunei Senior Business Counsellor Mohd Fadhilullah Tudun bin Haji Hassan.
Practical sessions included exploring the rainforest and completing an obstacle course led by experienced and qualified guides to help participants on the various aspects of survival in Brunei’s rainforest.
LiveWIRE Programme Director Haji Yusrin bin Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Mohd Salleh concluded the programme with an ending note.
“The Leadership Camp has taught me so much about self-development, evaluation, clarity, leadership and teamwork. I especially enjoyed the physical challenge and good team of supervisors,” said founder of Maven’s Hive and one of 2020 Shell LiveWIRE Brunei Business awards winners Goh Chai Li.
Temburong is a strategic location to conduct the Leadership Camp because participants can experience an away day concept, while appreciating what has been dubbed as the Green Jewel of Brunei.
