Law students join legal dinner

Students and guests from various legal backgrounds attended a dinner event hosted by the Faculty of Shariah and Law (FSL) of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) at Tarindak D’Seni, last Saturday.

Judge of the Syariah Court of Appeal Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin was the guest of honour.

Syariah High Court Judge Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hasan was also present.

The event began with the opening Doa delivered by Year 2 LLB BSL student Mohd Najihuddin, followed by a speech by Acting Dean of the FSL Dr Supri bin Haji Sudin.

He said the event was held to show appreciation and celebrate achievements of UNISSA student bodies as well as to foster a network among 3rd and 5th Year Bachelor of Shariah and Law students with guests from various legal backgrounds.

The dinner event was a compulsory module for the students to mingle with legal experts.

The event continued with the presentation of a plaque by Rector of UNISSA Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal to the guest of honour.

A mini skit, Tausyeh performance and a video presentation on FSL, student bodies of Shariah Law Society (Shalawsoc), Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA), and UNISSA Mooting Club (UMC) enlivened the event.

Dr Supri hoped that the event will help ensure future collaborations for law students and encourage excellence in academics and personal growth.
