Landslide kills four in north Vietnam

HANOI (XINHUA) – A landslide on a hill slope left four people dead in Vietnam’s northern province of Bac Kan yesterday morning, local media reported.

Five people in a family were sleeping in their house located on a hillside in Pac Nam district when the incident occurred at around 12.30am.

The landslide completely buried their house. Four of them including a one-month-old baby were buried. One could escape.

The volume of rainfall in the region amounted to 90 milimetres from 8pm on Monday to 6.30am yesterday, Vietnam News Agency reported.
