Lachkar wins gold for Brunei at Wushu contest

National wushu star Basma Lachkar clinched a sport in the World Games 2025 after emerging as the champion of the combined TaijiQuan and TaijiJian events at the World Games Series 2024 in Hong Kong.

Basma finished first overall with 19.323 points while Indonesia Thelte come in second with 19.316 points and Hong Kong finished third with 19.259 points.

National Coach Li Hui said, “Coach Zhao Chunjie and I were very satisfied with her performance and manged to qualify for next year’s World Games. We are proud of the achievements of the athletes. I hope Basma can achieve good results at the 2025 World Games and win glory for Brunei.” – James kon
