Awangku Muhd Ammarul Amsyar bin Pengiran Haji Marjuki from Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) was the champion in the male category of the Al-Quran reading competition held for higher learning institutions, while Hajah Wafiqah binti Haji Daim from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) was named the champion in the female category.
Eight students representing Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), UTB, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and KUPU SB participated in the competition held for higher learning institutions at the university college on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Izzuddin bin Haji Nor Hisham from UBD and Muhammad Dzulkhairi bin Haji Ibrahim from UNISSA were placed second and third in the male category, while Norliza binti Abdul Jalil from KUPU SB and Hanisah Syahirah binti Haji Haminuddin from UNISSA came in second and third places in the female category.
KUPU SB’s Acting Deputy Ra’es Dr Haji Abang Hadzmin bin Haji Abang Taha, presented the prizes to the winners.
