Kudos to RB for retaining staff

I’m writing in response to the article, “RB has solution for employees’ leave issue”, in the Bulletin on July 3, by applauding the steps taken in retaining local staff at Royal Brunei Airlines (RB).

With so many carriers around the world slashing jobs as a way to minimise the losses due to travel restrictions, it is refreshing to read about RB’s management doing everything in their power to keep its 1,700 employees from joblessness.

I agree whole-heartedly with Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah when he said, “We are trying to protect the company so that we can go back to normal and we don’t have to start training people.”

It’s truly comforting to learn that a big company like RB acknowledges the importance of trained staff and its desire to weather the COVID-19 storm together as a team.
