    Korban meat for those in need

    Persatuan Kebajikan Melayu Se-Malaysia

    Four cows were slaughtered for the Persatuan Kebajikan Melayu Se-Malaysia (PKMS) in Brunei during a korban ceremony at the RPN Kampong Rimba, with the meat distributed to orphans and less fortunate students of Awang Semaun Secondary School (SMAS) in Kampong Sungai Kebun recently.

    Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah and spouse, the guests of honour, distributed the korban meat to the participants and village residents.

    PKMS representative Wan Noor Hizan bin Haji Wan Noor distributed the korban meat to the orphans and less fortunate students at SMAS.

    Officials from the Malaysian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam, and RHB Bank Brunei CEO Haji Ishak Othman as well as bank staff were also present. – Lyna Mohamad

    PEMEDAYAN Association

    The Brunei Malay Kedayan Association (PEMEDAYAN) held a korban ceremony at the Sungai Liang Community Centre in the Belait District recently.

    Some 100 people including, 20 recipients from the asnaf group, attended the event where three cattle were sacrificed by PEMEDAYAN.

    Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad distributed the korban meat to participants, while PEMEDAYAN Association President Haji Zainal bin Tinggal handed over the meat for the asnaf and guests.

    Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Mohd Salleh bin Haji Othman, who is Penghulu of Mukim Bukit Sawat, was present. – Rokiah Mahmud
