The Syariah Courts, State Judiciary Department under the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) held a Korban ceremony to commemorate Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration at the multipurpose hall of Syariah Courts, High Court and Syariah Courts Building in Jalan Stoney on Saturday.
Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, the guest of honour, distributed the Korban meat to 20 recipients comprising asnaf fakir miskin from Mukim Kilanas, Mukim Kota Batu and Mukim Berakas ‘A’.
Syar’ie judges, registrars, officers and staff of the Syariah courts were also present.
The ceremony, which began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Takbir Hari Raya, saw two buffaloes sacrificed.
Brunei Youth Council
More than 130 families received sacrificial meat at a Korban ceremony organised by the Brunei Youth Council (BYC) in collaboration with Projek #INFAQ1 at the residence of Legislative Council (LegCo) member and MBB President Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa binti Haji Ash’ari on Saturday to commemorate Hari Raya Aidiladha.
Three cows were slaughtered for this year’s event.
The sacrificial meat was distributed to participants and 33 recipients through a drive-through system. Meanwhile in the afternoon, Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa along with members of BYC and Projek #INFAQ1 continued the distribution at the residence of Pengarah Haji Abdullah bin Haji Abu Bakar at Kampong Sungai Pandan to 50 recipients from Mukim Burong Pingai Ayer as well as several other mukims in Brunei-Muara District and volunteers.
The event, served to strengthen ties among Muslims and for Ukhwah building, also saw a presentation of special contributions to orphans and asnaf fakir miskin through Projek #INFAQ1.
Persatuan Melayu Kedayan
The Melayu Kedayan association (PEMEDAYAN) held a Korban ceremony at the Kampong Sibut Community Hall in Mukim Amo, Temburong District on Friday to mark Hari Raya Aidiladha. It saw two cows sacrificed this year.
The event began with the recitation of Takbir Hari Raya led by PEMEDAYAN president, followed by Acting Temburong District Officer Pengiran Muhammad Ameer Mubaarak bin Pengiran Haji Hashim as the guest of honour handing over the sacrificial meat to some 70 recipients.
PEMEDAYAN, registered in December 2015, has more than 100 members and aims to preserve the Kedayan culture and tradition.
The Reintegration Centre in Beribi distributed sacrificial meat and donated basic food necessities to 10 Program Rakan Selian/ Sinar Harapan participants during a Korban ceremony on Saturday in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.
Acting Deputy Director of Prisons at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) Dayangku Roslinawati binti Pengiran Omar distributed the sacrificial meat.
The event served to gain and share blessings from Allah the Almighty.
Kampong Sungai Besar
The Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque committee members held a Korban ceremony on Friday to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha.
Three buffaloes were slaughtered.
Mosque committee secretary Haji Zaini bin Haji Damit said apart from fulfilling the sacrificial rituals, it also fosters closer ties among villagers. “The activity of cutting sacrificial meat shows a noble attitude to help among the congregation, mosque committee, female worshippers, youth and the residents of this village.”
The ceremony began with a mass Takbir glorifying Allah the Almighty led by Imam of Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque Awangku Hassan.
Advisor to the mosque committee Haji Mohiddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman distributed the sacrificial meat to participants, differently-abled recipients and Muslim converts.
Kampong Sungai Bunga Village Consultative Council
Twenty-nine individuals participated in a Korban ceremony held by the Kampong Sungai Bunga Village Consultative Council (MPK Kampong Sungai Bunga) at Seri Tanjung Tourism Activity Centre in Kampong Sungai Bunga recently.
Legislative Council member (LegCo), and Penghulu of Mukim Kota Batu and Acting Penghulu of Mukim Kianggeh Yang Berhormat Naim bin Haji Kamis was the guest of honour.
This year, five cattle were sacrificed.
The annual religious ceremony served to commemorate Hari Raya Aidiladha and foster closer ties between members of the MPK and bureaus under it as well as the villagers.
