A total of 38 officers and personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department’s (FRD) Mentiri Fire Station Operation ‘A’ Branch held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the Mentiri Fire Station Surau yesterday.
Operation ‘A’ Branch Officer-in-Charge Superintendent Pengiran Haji Asmali bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad was among the attendees.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by DSO Mohamad bin Haji Yusof, followed by the recitation of verses of Al-Quran and Takhtim.
Meanwhile, the Pertiwi Association also held a virtual Khatam Al-Quran ceremony.
The ceremony began with the mass recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, led by Hajah Fatimah binti Haji Ahmad and Dayangku Zainab binti Pengiran Haji Tuah. This was followed by a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Pertiwi President Datin Hajah Siti Hajar binti Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof.
Dayangku Zainab also recited Doa before the recitation of Surah Ad-Duha to Surah Al-Masad, recited in turns by Pertiwi members. The Takhtim was jointly recited by Hajah Fatimah and Dayangku Zainab.
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Khatam and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam, by Hajah Fatimah and Dayangku Zainab.
