    Khatam Al-Quran shapes a Zikir nation

    Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School held a Khatam Al-Quran for Year 10 (fast track) and Year 11 students to produce Quran-literate Muslims and make a routine habit of reading Al-Quran to shape a generation that supports the Sultanate’s aspiration of becoming a Zikir nation.

    Some 200 students completed the recitation of 30 Juzuk of Al-Quran at the event, which was attended by officials from the Islamic Studies Department at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, parents and guardians.

    The ceremony aimed at encouraging the students to use Al-Quran as a guide while encourage them to work harder to attain success in worldly affairs and in the hereafter.

    Assistant Director of Corporate Services at the Islamic Studies Department Haslinah Susanti binti Haji Mohd Hassan, as guest of honour, lead the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah.

    The event also saw the recitation of Surah-Surah Lazim, Takhtim, Doa Khatam and Dikir Marhaban, followed by the guest of honour presenting Khatam Al-Quran certificates to the students. – Azlan Othman
