RPN Kampong Mentiri Village Consultative Council (MPK) and RPN Kampong Mentiri Safety and Development Committee Zone 2 yesterday held a Khatam Al-Quran event in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 76th birthday celebration.
It was held at the residence of RPN Kampong Mentiri village head with Brunei-Muara District Officer Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim attending as guest of honour.
Rahim bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Tanim led the recitation of Surah Adh-Dhuhaa to Surah An-Naas.
Apart from Khatam Al-Quran, a reception was also held to celebrate the safe return of RPN Kampong Mentiri residents who went on haj pilgrimage this year.
