Thirty-five people comprising the mosque takmir committee, Muslimah, Youth and Beliawanis members as well as congregants were celebrated at the 35 times Khatam Al-Quran ceremony in conjunction with the 35th year of Kampong Masin Mosque’s opening yesterday.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman was the guest of honour.
The event began with a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the minister, followed by a mass recitation of the Khatam Al-Quran by Khatam participants led by the mosque Imam Haji Zainul Hasramin bin Haji Mohd Hassan.
It proceeded with the recitation of the Takhtim led by Haji Abdul Wahab bin Haji Abdullah and recitation of the Doa Khatam by Mosque Affairs Officer Jeffry bin Haji Metassim. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of souvenirs to Khatam participants and the recitation of Doa Selamat by Haji Zainul Hasramin.
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, directors, assistant directors, senior officers and staff from the MoRA as well as the Mosque Affairs Department were also in attendance.
