Khatam Al-Quran ceremonies mark N-Day

RASHIDAH Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Sungai Akar held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony after Subuh prayer yesterday to mark the country’s 35th National Day celebration.

Some 190 Al-Quran readers joined the ceremony, including 70 women.

The ceremony was held to attain the vision and mission of the mosque as a centre for pious activity and development of knowledge to shape faithful, knowledgeable and devout Muslims as aspirated in the Zikir Nation.

Another Khatam Al-Quran ceremony to mark the National Day celebration was held at Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque yesterday.

The mosque’s Head Imam Pengiran Haji Solehin bin Pengiran Haji Tajuddin said it was held to express gratefulness to Allah the Almighty for showering the nation with peace and prosperity.

“We express our gratitude in that Al-Quran readers joined together to seek rewards from Allah the Almighty and to glorify the mosque,” he said.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by recitation of Ayat-Ayat Lazim led by Haji Abdul Rahim bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Tamin.

It ended with the recitation of Takhtim and Doa Khatam by Imam Pengiran Haji Solehin.
