KEMUDA Institute’s (KI) Student Council Inauguration Day was held at its main campus in Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) on January 26.

Each campus has nine council members assigned with individual roles. They are the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, ExCo Community Service, ExCo Multimedia Designer, ExCo Religious Affairs, ExCo Public Relation and ExCo Logistics.

The arrival of the guests of honour, Chairman Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Mohammad and Managing Director Loo Mei Tim, kick-started the event.

Seated beside each of them is a Student Council President; Amirul of the BSB campus and Syuhaidah of the Kuala Belait (KB) campus.

Leading the opening prayers were KI’s newly elected ExCo Religious Affairs, Mohammad Asraaf and Muhammad Amirul Zaqwan.

Former president, Muhammad Firdaus, stepped on stage to give a farewell speech and handed over his position as well as the student council files to the newly elected President, Awangku Md Amirul Afiq bin Pengiran Kamarulzaman.

Awangku Md Amirul then gave his very first speech, emphasising on the agenda his team would like to achieve for 2019 such as providing more fun and great learning moments for students to participate in.

A presentation of certificates and appointment letters were then handed out by the guests of honour to all former council members as they took the KI stage one last time.

Overall, 18 newly elected council members from both BSB and KB branches were present for the Inauguration. They recited the school’s pledge and solidified themselves as full-fledged Student Council members of 2019. They will now take the lead and help provide a wonderful world of learning for KI students. – Nur Amirah
