Stakeholders in the SEA-VET.net system, a regional knowledge platform for technical and vocational education and training (TVET) will look to update country profiles to keep up with changes in systems in the 11 member countries.

During a recent workshop, Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation Regional Centre for Vocational and Technical Education and Training (SEAMEO Voctech) Director Alias bin Haji Abu Bakar said, “The workshop is helpful in securing agreement with all stakeholders on the TVET Country Profile.

“This includes updating and improvement process including time frame, relevant data, templates, roles, and responsibilities, and in strengthening partnerships with focal points and international partners for the future leveraging of SEA-VET.net to the benefit of TVET systems in Southeast Asia.“

SEAMEO Voctech, with the support of GIZ Regional Cooperation for the Development of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (Recotvet), organised the ‘SEA-VET.net Focal Point and Strategic Partner Workshop: Sharing Knowledge for better TVET systems in Southeast Asia’ in Bangkok recently.

The one-day workshop was the follow-up to the ‘Focal Point Preliminary Workshop: TVET Country Profiles and Content Update on SEA-VET.net’ held earlier.

The participants are also responsible for updating the comprehensive ‘country profiles’ of TVET systems in Southeast Asian countries on SEA-VET.net. The portal is hosted and managed by SEAMEO Voctech in collaboration with GIZ-Recovet.
