KASUKA FC maintained their excellent start to their season in the NFABD Under-19 Youth League 2019 after they trounced Bakes FC 6-1 at the Berakas Sports Complex yesterday.
The league leaders have threatened in the early stages of the first half and their relentless pressure paid off as Md Aisan Aizuddin bin Abdullah Mohd Aiman coolly found the target in the bottom corner. The attackers were lining up to double the tally and the scorer’s teammate almost joined in the act if not for the Bakes goalkeeper shortly after falling behind.
Kasuka’s Mohd Hadif Aiman bin Haji Adnan unleashed a shot from outside the box but did not get the right elevation to cause sufficient concern for the Bakes goalkeeper.
Mohd Hadif Aiman returned to terrorise the Bakes defence with a precise cross into the middle but Mohd Syami Fadhlillah bin Mohd Helmi’s tame shot allowed the goalkeeper to make the save.
Md Aisan Aizuddin spurned a gilt-edged opportunity to punish the Bakes defence after they were left completely exposed at the back as he struck his initial effort directly to the goalkeeper. When the rebound fell to him, there were enough defenders to provide cover and surely enough one of them blocked his subsequent attempt.
Bakes offered little threat upfront but they nearly conjured an equaliser following good work on the flanks by perhaps their most creative player. The winger escaped his marker and provided a lofted ball into the box but his advancing teammate skied his effort wide.
Almost immediately, Md Aisan Aizuddin nearly doubled his tally but the angle where he stood eluded him of a clear sight of the goal. However, they were not to be denied moments later as Md Azinur Rashiman bin Haji Jufri slotted home from close range after latching onto an inviting ball by a teammate.
Kasuka threatened to repeat their goal-scoring frenzy in their league opener as forward Muhd Hilmi bin Sidik exhibited good ball control before completing the move with a neat finish. Just a minute later, Md Aisan Aizuddin netted his brace as Kasuka eradicated any lingering doubts.
A series of opportunities poured in the second half as an unmarked Muhd Khoirunnaas bin Khalid flashed his header wide. Kasuka’s forward Md Eddy Shahrul belted a screamer from distance to add to a compilation of classy finishes and his team’s fifth of the game.
The embattled Bakes managed a scant consolation after Mohd Azrol Rafiuddin Shah bin Abdullah Mohd Amiruddin Shah outmuscled his marker and struck a low effort.
There was a time for a sixth at the end of normal time as Md Aisan Aizuddin turned provider when he supplied a corner to Md Hadif Aiman, who expertly produced a cushioned finish into the net.
