The sole candidate for Kampong Keriam village head, Kampong Keriam Acting Village Head and research officer at the Museums Department Haji Bahrin bin Haji Bolhassan, 53, received 213 of the 230 votes.
Meanwhile, 15 voted against and two votes were damaged.
The election for Mukim Keriam penghulu and Kampong Keriam village head took place at Keriam Primary School’s hall yesterday where 177 votes were casted using ballot paper while 48 used PMKK e-Vote app and five used tablets.
The three candidates for Mukim Keriam penghulu are retired teacher Haji Awang Aji bin Haji Hamdan, 59; former assistant director of Land Transport Department Haji Joharry bin Haji Abdul Karim, 58; and former Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd employee Haji Muhammad Ayub bin Haji Suhaili, 52.
The vote yesterday was conducted through paper ballot while voting via PMKK e-Vote app began on October 12 for Kampong Keriam village head. PMKK e-Vote for the penghulu began yesterday and ends tomorrow at 2pm.
The election began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Kampong Keriam Mosque Affairs Officer Mohd Fauzi bin Haji Anuar followed by a speech by Acting Tutong District Officer Ajmin bin Haji Meludin.
The election of Mukim Keriam penghulu continues tomorrow for Kampong Sinaut, Kampong Sungai Kelugos and Kampong Kupang as well as areas surrounding Maraburong Prison Training Centre from 8am to 2pm.
