The Brunei Darussalam National Judo Federation (BDNJF) recently concluded its third Tsukinami Shiai (Judo Tournament) at the Sports Hall, Sports School Brunei Darussalam.
Aminoor Nordin was named champion in the 45-kilogramme (kg) male category, while Faiq Samihan and Qawim Hanafiah won the 50kg and 55kg categories.
Meanwhile, Mohd Adam Aduka claimed top spot in the 60kg category, while Wan Mohd Faris bin Haji Zaini won the 66kg category. Norhidayat Abdul, Farid Bujang and Nuraiman secured gold in the 73kg, 81kg and +90kg categories. Meanwhile, Farah Aqilah binti Abidin won the 52kg female category.
The event, organised by Academy SSBN under BDNJF, saw 28 athletes from Academy SSBN, Politeknik Brunei Judo Club, Sports School Brunei Darussalam, Made By Champions and Jits Irmao participating.
BDNJF Vice President (Administration) Chong Chee Kiong and Vice President (Technical) Mohd Ali-Rashid bin Mohd Alipah presented the medals to the winners.
“Students from the Sports School actively took part in the tournament as part of their IGCSE Physical Education course requirement, as we prioritised the event’s importance in promoting physical education and sportsmanship,” BDNJF said in a statement.
“We thank all the participants, volunteers, clubs and supporters for their contribution to the success of the tournament. The commitment and talent displayed by the judo community reaffirms the growing popularity and significance of the sport in the region.”
